Set during the Russian revolution, we meet Yuri Zhivago (Omar Sharif), a young doctor-poet who is an orphan. Falling in love with Lara Guishar (Julie Christie) a woman who has been having an affair with her mother's businessman lover, Yuri ends up marrying another woman – but never forgetting Lara. The spark remains, and is relit when he and Lara meet again years later. One of the great love stories of the 20th century, on screen again at Nova.
