Human Flow

World renowned artist and activist Ai Weiwei captures today’s global refugee crisis of over 65 million people – the greatest human displacement since World War II – in this breathtakingly epic film journal.

The staggering scale of the refugee crisis and the real human faces of a planet on the move are examined as we follow refugees in 23 countries over a year and their quest for the things we all want: safety, shelter, and peace. Taking you beyond television and newspaper headlines, Ai visually pulls back to show the sheer immensity and breadth of this crisis via drone footage, then zeros in with intimate meetings with people on the move or in refugee camps. Ai’s career has been about resisting borders of all kinds and unifying art and activism, and HUMAN FLOW continues this exploration at a time when tolerance, compassion, and trust are needed more than ever.
