Monster Calls, A

A visually spectacular drama from director J.A. Bayona (The Orphanage), A MONSTER CALLS adapts Patrick Ness’ beloved award-winning novel about a young boy learning to deal with the hardest truth in life.

Twelve year old Conor (Lewis MacDougall) doesn’t want to accept the fact that his mother (Felicity Jones) is battling a serious illness and is unlikely to make it through. Put in the care of his foreboding grandmother (Sigourney Weaver) and bullied at school, Conor retreats into an imaginary world of fantasy and fairy tales… and that’s where he meets the Monster.

A moving tale of courage, loss and love, centred by a fantastic voice performance by Liam Neeson as the growly, force-of-nature Monster, A MONSTER CALLS is a fantastical adventure with an all too real beating heart.
