Una

The secrets of the past threaten to unravel two lives in UNA, adapted from David Harrower’s play Blackbird by Australian director Benedict Andrews.

Rooney Mara stars as Una, a young woman desperately attempting to reclaim and redeem her past. Fifteen years earlier, Una ran away with an older man, Ray (Ben Mendelsohn), a crime for which he was arrested and imprisoned. When she comes across a photo of him in a trade magazine, Una tracks him down and turns up at his workplace. Her abrupt arrival threatens to destroy Ray’s new life and derail her stability.

Secrets, resentments and buried memories float to the surface as UNA refuses to take the easy road in exploring the most feared and damaging forms of unequal love, and asks if redemption is possible.
