Viceroy's House

The latest film from Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham, Bride & Prejudice) is an opulently stylish period drama recounting the last days of British rule in India. Hugh Bonneville and Gillian Anderson are Lord and Lady Mountbatten, the last Viceroys, charged with being Britain’s representatives in handing India back to its people. Through the eyes of the Mountbattens, and two of Viceroy House’s employees, Jeet and Aalia, the end of Empire is witnessed, and the dawn of a glorious new age for India.
