Thank you for choosing Cinema Nova for your special event.
Following you’ll find some important information regarding booking an event, so please take the time to read through the information.
Bookings will not be confirmed until Cinema Nova has received a signed copy of the attached agreement.
tips when planning your fundraiser >
•Cinema Nova suggests you choose a film that is only one or two weeks in release. Any film in its 3rd, 4th or 5th week of release is no longer considered a “hot ticket” and you may have difficulties selling tickets.
•You need to give yourself enough time to sell tickets. Cinema Nova suggests 2-3 weeks.
•You may only select a film that is currently or will be screening at Cinema Nova. |

Fundraisers & Groups
20 to 50 = $11.00 per ticket
51 to 100 = $10 per ticket
101 - 150 = $9.50 per ticket
151+ = $9.00 per ticket
NOTE: regular prices are $15.50 + $11.00 concession
Student Groups
$8.50 per student and for every 20 students, one teacher is allowed in for free. |
Printing of fundraising tickets is done in-house at Cinema Nova and takes up to 2 days to print from the time your booking is confirmed. Information for the tickets is taken from the booking form, so be sure to provide us with accurate information. A copy of the ticket will be faxed/e-mailed to you for approval prior to printing. Under no circumstances should you make your own tickets.
Ticket Collection
We will notify you when your tickets are ready for collection and these can be picked up from the Cinema Nova candy bar during cinema opening hours. Under no circumstance do we post tickets to you. |

Cinema Nova’s screening week begins on Thursday and runs through to the following Wednesday, and new weekly session times are released every Tuesday. For this reason we are unable to give you an exact screening time for your film. We ask you to nominate a 7pm-ish or 9pm-ish session on the booking form and you must allow for half an hour either side of the approximate starting time. i.e If you’ve selected 7pm, the film could start anywhere between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Circumstances and film lengths often dictate exact session time.
Weekly session times are posted on our website every Tuesday, but we will call you to notify you of the exact session time. It is advised to tell people who are buying your fundraising tickets to check our website or the newspaper for the exact session time. |
·As stated earlier, we advise that you allow yourself 2-3 weeks to sell your tickets.
·Selling of tickets is not permitted at Cinema Nova on the day of your screening. ·If you do not return unsold tickets, you will be required to pay for them. ·If you require additional tickets on the night, they can be purchased only from the Candy Bar half an hour prior to the film commencing and are subject to availability. The rate of these tickets will be sold at the initial rate your first rate of tickets were sold to you at. ·If you sell below the minimum Group Booking number of 20 tickets, you will no longer be eligible for the discount. |
Subject to availability, we can also send you fliers for your chosen film. Signage relating to your fundraiser is not permitted at the Cinema Nova Box Office or in the entrance to Lygon Court.

| If you need to cancel your booking, we require 7 days notice or a cancellation fee will be charged. |

At no extra charge, your booking can also include hire of our downstairs foyer, which is suitable for pre or post-film drinks.
What you CAN serve.
* Dips, crackers, deli snacks, mineral water.
What you CAN’T serve
• Alcohol: icludes beer, wine, mixed drinks cocktails and punches or any other alchoholic products
* Food and beverages that are available from Cinema Nova’s Candy Bar including soft drinks, Packet Chips, Popcorn, Sweets/Lollies.
* Hot Food or drink.
* You cannot sell food and beverages.
NOTE: We can provide you with glasses, but you are responsible for cleaning up after your function. Washing liquid, bin bags are provided and a penalty may apply if the area is not cleared and/or if any glasses are broken. Cinema Nova does not have a license for serving alcoholic beverages but we hope to have one in the new year. |
Ticket are released to you 50 at a time.
First 50 tickets – no deposit required.
Additional 50 tickets - $500 deposit required.
Final payment is required 24-48 hours before your screening. For example, if you have sold 120 tickets the balance due will be $640.00.
120 tickets @ $9.50 each = $1,140
$1,140 - $500 deposit = $640
Payment can be made by cash, cheque or credit card (Visa & Mastercard). Cheques must be made out for the correct amount as Cinema Nova can not give cash refunds. |
