Ad Astra

James Gray (The Immigrant, Two Lovers) takes us across an unforgiving solar system in his original science fiction epic AD ASTRA. Set in the near future, career astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) is called upon to embark upon a mission into the furthest reaches of space in an attempt to save mankind from a threat emanating from an earlier mission to Neptune captained by his intergalactic travel pioneer father Clifford McBride (Tommy Lee Jones).

Debuting at the Venice Film Festival to critical acclaim and expectations of award season inclusion, director James Gray's interstellar thriller imagines a world where humanity has once again turned its attention to the stars, the moon is a battleground for resources, and space travel is a commercial reality. Co-starring Donald Sutherland, Liv Tyler, Ruth Negga and John Ortiz.
