Air Force One

25th ANNIVERSARY SCREENING! Directed by Wolfgang Petersen (Das Boot, The Never Ending Story) from a screenplay by Andrew W. Marlowe (Hollow Man), Harrison Ford stars as James Marshall; the President of the United States. When radicals hijack Air Force One with the President and his family on-board, Marshall - a veteran of the US Armed Forces - takes matters into his own hands.
Starring in (another) role Ford was born to play, and with Glenn Close supporting as his feisty VP, Petersen's 'Die Hard on a plane, but with the US President in the John McClane role' was as sure a blockbuster hit as the nineties studios were able to assemble. With Gary Oldman chewing the scenery as a character called Ivan Korshunov (we'll leave you to deduct his role in the plot), a who's-who of character actors looking anxiously at war-room monitors (William H Macy, Xander Berkeley, Paul Guilfoyle, Dean Stockwell) and some of the most quotable lines from the Golden Age of star-driven actioners, the only question we're left to ponder is: why is it that Harrison Ford never pursued a Presidential run himself?
