Alphaville

60TH ANNIVERSARY! Winner of the Golden Bear at the 1965 Berlin International Film Festival, Jean-Luc Godard's satirist science fiction-film noir ALPHAVILLE is back with a newly released restoration!

Secret agent Lemmy Caution (Eddie Constantine), better known as 003, has been sent to Alphaville, a futuristic city on another planet. His mission: destroy the sentient computer that controls the population, called Aphla 60, eliminate its creator, and locate another agent that's gone missing. Posing as a journalist, Lemmy finds himself in a world where love, conscience, poetry and emotion have been banished, and enlists Natacha von Braun (Anna Karina), the daughter of Alpha 60's inventor, to help him.

Mirroring the technophobic attitudes of the 60s, Godard's hypnotic classic continues to be a prescient reminder of the importance of self-expression in an increasingly assimilating world.
