Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood, A

When a jaded magazine writer (Matthew Rhys) is assigned to profile iconic children’s television host Fred Rogers (Tom Hanks), he sets out to discover the ‘real person’ behind the kindly television personality. Based on the true story of a meeting between Rogers and journalist Tom Junod, director Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) crafts a poignant tribute to a TV star that became a neighbour and defacto parent to millions of American children. Many films will stir tears, laughter and consideration, but Heller’s drama will inspire you to be a better person.
