Based on the 1958 science fiction classic, director Chuck Russell and screenwriter Frank Darabont reimagine the tale of a squishy yet deadly outer space mass which invades a small town before its citizens and a secretive government science agency race to destroy it.

Initially dismissed for being another flick in a long list of teenagers-versus-evil releases of the 1980s, it's since been elevated to cult status by horror fans for it's borderline campiness, Cold War paranoia, gruesome special effects and genuine superiority over the original film.
