Written, produced, edited and directed by David Lynch, the filmmaker's debut feature grew to become a sensation following its release in 1977. Thought to be a reaction to his fear of becoming a father, Lynch directs Jack Nance as Henry Spencer - a man trying to survive within an industrial environment while dealing with an angry girlfriend and the screams of his newly born mutant child. Initial audience indifference evolved into 'Midnight Movie' curiosity before becoming an international cult favourite.
