Lapsis
In a tour-de-force of filmmaking, Noah Hutton writes, directs, edits and scores LAPSIS, a sci-fi satire set in a parallel universe to here and now. In a bid to support himself and his younger brother, luggage delivery man Ray Tincelli (Dean Imperial) takes on a job in a strange new part of the gig economy: trekking into the forest and hauling cable over miles to connect a new quantum trading market. Encountering challenging wilderness, hostility and the threat of robot cablers as he gets further in, Ray must decide to either help his fellow workers, or to get rich and get out. Hutton’s satire of the pressures of the modern economy is a lo-fi and original clever oddity.
