MF Children of the Wicker Man
A deeply emotional and devastatingly personal exploration of the impact that the ‘Citizen Kane of horror’ had on the family of the film’s director Robin Hardy half a century after THE WICKER MAN was first released.
When filmmaker Justin Hardy receives a treasure trove of lost papers belonging to his late father Robin, director of THE WICKER MAN, 50 years after the film premiered, he enlists his half-brother Dominic, and together they go on a journey to discover how this independent low-budget film shaped not only their lives, but an entire genre of film. Visiting the film’s locations and talking to the few remaining cast and crew, the brothers piece together a portrait of their father and the film that made him that is both fascinating and tragic.
