A group of child soldiers for a guerrilla organisation deep in the remote mountains are guarding an American hostage, Doctora (Julianne Nicholson). The teenage commandos perform military training exercises by day and indulge in youthful hedonism by night, navigating survival, humanity and sexuality.
After an ambush drives the squadron into the jungle, both the mission and the intricate bonds between the group begin to disintegrate.
Winner of a Sundance Special Jury Award and Colombia’s official entry into the Academy Awards, and with a powerful score by Mica Levi (Under The Skin), MONOS is singular in its vision, and a fever-dream of a war film.
