Unemployed musician Dewey Finn (Jack Black) needs a job, fast. Kicked out of his band and facing a mountain of debts, Finn impersonates his roommate Ned (White) and takes a job as a substitute teacher to make ends meet. Under the eye of uptight headmaster Rosalie Mullins (Joan Cusack), Finn soon learns that the young students in his charge share his passion for music.
