Sparks Brothers, The

Meet your favourite band’s favourite band! Filmmaker Edgar Wright (Shaun Of The Dead, Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim vs The Word) takes his first bite out of the documentary format with the outrageous true story of Ron and Russell Mael, of hugely-influential, enigmatic, art pop, new wave duo Sparks.

As well as the brothers themselves and Wright appearing throughout the film, there is a veritable feast of music and arts royalty including Beck, Björk, Thurston Moore, Flea, Patton Oswalt, Jason Schwartzman, Mike Myers, Todd Rundgren, Bernard Butler, Pamela Des Barres, Jonathan Ross, members of New Order, The Human League, the Sex Pistols, The Go-Go’s, Erasure, Franz Ferdinand, Duran Duran and more.

How can one rock band be successful, underrated, hugely influential, and criminally overlooked all at the same time? Take a musical odyssey through five weird and wonderful decades with the brothers, celebrating the inspiring legacy of Sparks.
