Thelma

MATINEE FILM CLUB: Thursday September 5, 10.30am. Join your host, film critic Jan Epstein, for an opening day screening of THELMA with complimentary morning tea and post-movie chat.

June Squibb (Nebraska) is a retiree out for revenge in Josh Margolin’s hilarious and heartwarming feature debut.

When 93-year-old Thelma (Squibb) falls victim to a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson, she sets out on a treacherous quest across the city to reclaim what was taken from her.

A story exploring aging, family, and autonomy (and uniquely inspired by action movies like Mission: Impossible) – THELMA marks Squibb’s first leading film role of her 70+ year career and co-stars stars Parker Posey, Richard Roundtree, Clark Gregg, Malcolm McDowell, and Fred Hechinger.
