Truman Show, The

25th ANNIVERSARY SCREENING! "You were real. That's what made you so good to watch."

The movie that would inspire the entire reality TV genre as we know it, Peter Weir's THE TRUMAN SHOW featured Jim Carrey playing against type as the most famous person in the world - Truman Burbank - who became the unwitting star of his own 24 hour a day, 7 day a week television show. Now an adult and living in a township that has been created to capture his every moment amid a neighbourhood entirely populated by actors, Truman begins to suspect that literally everything is not as it appears.

Written by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca) and co-starring Ed Harris, Laura Linney, Noah Emmerich, Holland Taylor and Natasha McElhone, THE TRUMAN SHOW is now recognised as one of the finest films of 1998.
