Our screens first saw Charlie, his golden ticket and Gene Wilder’s eccentric Willy Wonka in 1971, when the film based on Roald Dahl’s book was released. Now, 50 years on, the story is just as special - and to celebrate half a century, the film is being re-released and you can catch the beloved family classic here at Nova! Charlie (Peter Ostrum) is a sweet but poor boy, dreaming of finding one of the elusive golden tickets sweet titan Willy Wonka (Wilder) has hidden inside chocolate bars. When Charlie succeeds, all his wildest dreams come true - he, along with four other fairly odios children, are permitted entry into the magical land of Wonka’s factory - and they’ll encounter adventures they never dreamed of.
