David Fincher’s visceral adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk’s anarchist novel was one of the most controversial and talked-about films of 1999. A depressed man (Edward Norton) who is discontented with his white-collar job and suffering from insomnia meets a strange salesman named Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt). The two bored men form an underground boxing club where they fight other men fed up with their mundane lives. But their perfect partnership frays when Marla (Helena Bonham Carter) attracts Tyler's attention.

David Cronenberg (Eastern Promises) combines his trademark affinity for gore and horror with strongly developed characters for a wildly imaginative, gut-wrenching and darkly funny sci-fi classic. When brilliant but eccentric scientist Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) creates a teleportation device, he decides to test its abilities on himself. Unbeknownst to him, a house fly slips in during the process...
