Revealing the decisive moment that forever changed media coverage, director Tim Fehlbaum's SEPTEMBER 5 is set during the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics. An American Sports broadcasting team covering the event must urgently adapt their live coverage when a group of athletes are taken hostage by terrorists. 

Geoff (John Magaro), a young and ambitious producer, is striving to prove himself to his boss - executive Roone Arledge (Peter Sarsgaard) - when gunshots are heard. nearby Together with German interpreter Marianne (Leonie Benesch) and his mentor Marvin Bader (Ben Chaplin), Geoff unexpectedly takes the helm of the live coverage. As narratives shifts and conflicting rumours spread, Geoff and his team must grapple with tough decisions as events unfold while confronting his own moral compass.
