Children of the Sea

From director Ayumu Watanabe, and veteran composer Joe Hisaishi of Studio Ghibli, comes CHILDREN OF THE SEA: a kaleidoscopic film anime full of stunning visuals of a world under the sea that draws the viewer in. Teenager Ruka has always been fascinated by the mysteries of the ocean – both of her parents are oceanographers, and her dad works at the aquarium. When she meets Umi and Sora, two boys raised by dugongs, she’s drawn back into the water’s secrets: right as the world’s marine life begins to disappear.

Based on Daisuke Igarashi’s award-winning manga, CHILDREN OF THE SEA is a film of breathtaking imagery, a dreamy score, and ends up a timely approach to the issues facing the world’s oceans.
