For Sama

Winner of Best Film, Director, Editing and Documentary at the recent British Independent Film Awards, Waad al-Kateab and Edward Watts chronicle life in war-torn Syria. Waad al-Kateab experiences five years of the uprising in Aleppo while falling in love, getting married and giving birth to her daughter Sama. Intimately personal and brutally honest, this incredible story reminds us that as the calamity of war rumbles on, individual lives are lived amongst it.
